VIP tiers for Shopify
VIP tiers give regular customers a rank to reach and a reward when they reach it. Poinz starts you with Bronze, Silver and Gold, and you change them to fit your store.
How a customer reaches a VIP tier
Each tier has a name, an icon and a threshold. You choose one rule for all tiers: points earned or amount spent.
With points, Poinz uses the customer's points balance, so a customer who spends points can move down a tier. With amount spent, it uses what the customer has spent in your store.
You also choose the qualification period: lifetime (no expiry) or one calendar year, from January 1 to December 31.
Rewards and perks for each tier
An entry reward is a one-time reward for reaching the tier: bonus points, or a discount code for a fixed amount with an optional minimum purchase.
Perks are a short text you write for each tier, for example early access to sales or free gift wrapping. The rewards panel shows them under Benefits. Poinz does not apply perks for you, so choose perks your team can give.
What customers see
The rewards panel shows the customer's rank and how far the next tier is, for example "Earn 200 points to reach Gold". At the top tier it says "You have reached the highest rank!".

Choose the rule
Pick points earned or amount spent, and lifetime or one calendar year.

Edit the tiers
Change the names and thresholds of Bronze, Silver and Gold, or add more. Two tiers cannot have the same threshold. Use the default icons or upload your own image.

Add rewards and perks
Give each tier an entry reward and write its perks. Customers see them in the rewards panel.
VIP tier questions
- How many tiers should I have?
- Three are enough for most stores. Set the first tier above Bronze low enough that a repeat customer reaches it in a few orders.
- Should tiers use points or amount spent?
- Amount spent is easier for customers to follow, and spending points does not lower their tier. Points work well when you also reward actions such as sign-ups and birthdays.
- Is there a limit on the number of tiers?
- No. Each tier only needs its own threshold.
- Which plan includes VIP tiers?
- Every plan, the free plan included.
